Behaviour™ Interactive and Hbo® Partner to Bring Game of Thrones® Strategy Game to the World
Montreal, February 12, 2018—Behaviour Interactive and HBO are excited to announce their partnership for a new strategy game based on the worldwide hit series Game of Thrones that will propel the genre in a bold new direction on mobile free-to-play.
“Behaviour is extremely proud to partner with HBO to create an innovative new game based on one of the most popular TV series in the world. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us as game developers to work on a brand that we admire and respect as fans. Game of Thrones has captivated audiences from around the world, and we truly believe that, with HBO, we can deliver on the high expectations that the show commands.” explained Rémi Racine, CEO and Executive Producer, Behaviour Interactive.
“The Game of Thrones fan base is highly engaged and stretches across all corners of the globe,” said Jeff Peters, Vice President, Licensing & Retail, HBO. “Our job is to give those fans engaging new ways to immerse themselves in the world of the show, and we’re excited to see what innovative ideas Behaviour brings to the table.”
To create the game for a worldwide audience, Behaviour will also form a strategic partnership with renowned Chinese developer and publisher GAEA. “Working together with GAEA early on in the development cycle will ensure a synergy between Eastern and Western cultures and in turn enable us to craft this game for the global market,” Racine noted.
Behaviour and GAEA will capture the depth of the creatures, characters, cultures, legends and mythologies that exist across Westeros and beyond and allow players to use them to explore, build, plot, and conquer for years to come.
“We are very excited to team up with Behaviour Interactive. GAEA has been devoted to innovative mobile gaming experiences, and with the best-in-class production value that Behaviour will bring, we aim to provide fans and gamers worldwide with an extensive Game of Thrones adventure on mobile devices.” said Yanzhi Wang, founder and CEO of GAEA.
“Game of Thrones is a modern masterpiece—portraying one of the most profound works of fantasy world building in existence. Everyone on the team at Behaviour and at GAEA is an ardent fan, and we consider ourselves caretakers of the brand. We cannot get enough of the world, its characters, or the endless theories that its many prophecies generate—and we’re working our hardest to capture that spirit in a deep and authentic experience for fans,” said Justin Jones, Creative Director, Behaviour Interactive.
